Harvest 2025 begins at Finca Montrubí
One of the most important moments of the year has arrived for us. The harvest campaign begins, bringing with it the opportunity to pick the fruit for which we have been caring for the vineyards over the past 365 days. From winter pruning, through green pruning, we have witnessed how the grapes formed, grew, and went through veraison until reaching the optimal ripeness that will allow us to craft this vintage’s wines.
The debut took place last Saturday, August 23rd, with the picking of the first clusters of the jewel in our crown: the Sumoll from the Vertical Vineyard, which we will use to produce L’Ancestral Rosé. Other parcels of this flagship variety will follow—the very grape that marked the beginning of the Montrubí project and with which we produce several wines from the Gaintus range: Gaintus Radical, Gaintus Sobremadurat, and One Night’s Rosé. Gaintus Vertical is also 100% Sumoll, and this year it celebrates its 25th vintage.
The harvest will extend over several weeks, in order to pick the different varieties across the estate’s forty hectares. We will continue harvesting Sumoll, Xarel·lo, Macabeu, Parellada, and Red Grenache.
