Montrubí makes the leap across the Pacific thanks to the international exposure provided by the specialized press publication of several articles highlighting the winery and the comprehensive experience offered at Finca Montrubí. This visibility stems from the visit we received this summer from a group of international communicators, including Japanese journalists who shared their experience in Catalonia, with a special focus on Barcelona and the Penedès region. As part of this program, they had the opportunity to learn about our project firsthand, visit the winery, and taste the wines we produce.
Travel & Life magazine devoted an extensive feature to their stay in the Catalan capital, referencing iconic landmarks such as the Els 4 Gats café, the figure of Picasso, and participation in a chocolate workshop at Amatller. Within this journey, Montrubí holds a prominent place as one of the wineries included in their itinerary across the country.
The authors of the report describe it as “a place where wine, landscape, history, and hospitality come together in a slow-paced and authentic Penedès experience,” and they emphasize the uniqueness of a setting where the winery and Hotel Montrubí 1771 coexist, which they portray as “a peaceful retreat, ideal for disconnecting from the urban rhythm and enjoying a natural environment surrounded by vineyards.”

They specifically point out as one of the most distinctive aspects of the visit the fact that Montrubí has its own winery, “allowing guests to visit the vineyards and gain firsthand insight into the winemaking process.” The report describes the egg-shaped cement vessels used for fermentation and aging, as well as walks through the vineyards while the estate’s team carries out pruning and vine-training tasks. This meticulous work, they note, is essential to producing high-quality wines.
The narrative is completed with the gastronomic dimension, with particular emphasis on breakfast, when “sunlight bathes the vines and enhances the sense of well-being and connection with the surroundings”.
