Montrubí teams up with El Celler de Can Roca in a charity dinner for Gaza

On November 7th, the restaurant Casa Nova, led by chef Andrés Torres, became the setting for a gastronomic event marked by commitment and strong solidarity. Montrubí joined the initiative.

Torres and Joan Roca, owner and chef of El Celler de Can Roca, created a four-handed menu paired with wines selected especially for the occasion. The charity dinner featured our Durona Parellada 2023, a fresh and elegant wine that quickly captivated diners with its aromatic expression and balance, pairing perfectly with the splendid interpretation of trinxat.

A charitable cause for the children of Gaza

This initiative, which has already been well received in previous editions, reaffirms the solidarity commitment of the culinary and wine sectors—this year also including the winery Montrubí. The funds raised, exceeding 16,000 euros, will be entirely allocated to ensuring access to food and psychological support for Palestinian children in Gaza through the local teams of Global Humanitaria.

Joan Roca said: “Generosity, hospitality and solidarity are intrinsic values of cuisine; this dinner is a way to bring them to life by helping those who need it most.” Andrés Torres expressed his gratitude for the sector’s response and encouraged other restaurants to join this charitable gastronomic movement, which has already managed to send hundreds of food packages to Gaza.
