October’s Wine: Durona Blanc
We’re celebrating the arrival of October with a bottle of Durona Blanc — a single-varietal Parellada wine with low alcohol content (11.5% ABV), released under the Penedès Designation of Origin.
This wine comes from old vines planted in 1975. It’s the result of a winemaking process designed to preserve the grape’s varietal expression as much as possible, enriched by the complexity and structure gained through a brief skin maceration. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, optimizing temperature control while maintaining the grape’s freshness and purity. After fermentation, the wine rests for 4 to 6 months in clay amphorae.
On the nose, it stands out for its notes of undergrowth and delicate floral hints. On the palate, it surprises with its silkiness, length, and a pleasant mineral contrast that gives it depth and character.
For the best experience, serve between 12 °C and 13 °C, either by the glass or paired with light appetizers or dinners. Its freshness and balance also make it an excellent match for white fish, white asparagus, crisp green salads, crab meat, or avocado.
Find it in our shop and enjoy it for just 16 euros.
