Advent Xarel·lo 2014 – 100% Xarel·lo – White sweet wine – With case and glass stopper
18 – Jancis Robinson
A selective harvest is done of the best clusters of the old¬ vine Xarel·lo planted in 1974 in L’Avellà. The bunches are then transported to an ancient hay¬barn, where they are hung to dry until the desired level of sugar concentration is reached. Powerful bouquet of white flowers such as Spanish jasmine, apricot, quince preserves or membrillo, and marcona almonds. The finish lingers on the palate with a persistence that is never cloying.
Pairing ideas: Foie Gras, blue cheese, crème brûlée, custard, dessert with sweet spices such as vanilla.
Gaintus Sobremadurado 2019 – 100% Sumoll – Sweet red wine – With case and glass stopper
91 points Robert Parker
A selective harvest is done of the best clusters of Sumoll. The bunches are then transported to an ancient haybarn, where they are hung to dry until the desired level of sugar concentration is reached. Cherry rosé color with a finely intense bouquet to match. A medley of autumn aromas ranging from fresh orange blossom honey to dried tart cherries and plums with touches of dried Spanish jasmine, pink rose and candied citron zest. The creamy palate echoes the nose with deepening flavors of lemondrops, quince preserves or membrillo, and balsamic reduction maintaining a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity throughout the finish.
Pairing ideas: Dark chocolate, apple and nut pies, spicy sweets such as cinnamon and cardamom.
Advent Samsó 2019 – 100% Cariñena – Sweet red wine – With case and glass stopper
93 points Guía Peñín
Advent Samsó is a wine made from 100% Carignan grapes affected by noble rot (Botrytis cinerea). In the Penedès region this unusual result can only be achieved in specific weather conditions, which makes this wine even more extraordinary. During harvest we only select the bunches that achieve the maximum concentration. Elegance, subtlety, complexity and freshness are the hallmarks of this wine both on the nose and the palate. The luscious, yet fresh palate is redolent in wild Mediterranean herbs and heather with touches of poached Jumilla pear and orange zest.
Pairing ideas: Fruit salad, dried fruit, hard cheeses such as Mahon, Comté or Gruyère.
